US-Taliban talks resume in Doha
The United States resumed talks with the Taliban in Qatar on Saturday, three months after President Donald Trump abruptly halted the process.

A Taliban source told 1TV that the group had resumed talks with the US from “the point they were halted,” around 10:00a.m. local time.
A US source has also confirmed to AFP resumption of the talks.
"The US rejoined talks today in Doha. The focus of discussion will be reduction of violence that leads to intra-Afghan negotiations and a ceasefire," an unidentified US source was quoted as saying by AFP.
Trump cancelled year-long talks with the Taliban in September just as the sides had finalized an agreement. He cited a deadly attack in Kabul in announcing the decision.
He had also cancelled a secret meeting with the militants in the US.
During a surprise visit to a US military base in Afghanistan last week, Trump said the Taliban “wants to make a deal.”
