Eleven assailants in succession raped two women in Kapisa province of northern Kabul, who reportedly had traveled from the Afghan capital to the area for vacation.

A credible security source in Kapisa confirmed to Khaama Press that a number of gunmen affiliated with Khadijeh Elham Khalili, member of the Afghan Parliament, gang-raped two women in Kohistan district of the province Friday night.
Shakiba Saifi, Director of Kapisa Women affairs told the press, “eleven men have carried out the rape” and a probe team has been sent to the area for further investigation into the case.
According to police officials, at least seven of the involved suspects were identified and arrested.
Shayeq Shoresh, a spokesman to Kapisa Police HQ said, “We have managed to arrest 7 suspects in connection to the incident, and our investigations continuing”.
One of the victims claimed the perpetrators are security guards of Khadija Elham, as she could manage to recognize only five of the assailants.
“A rape has occurred by eleven people, currently police are investigating the incident, people in Kapisa also demands justice, because residents in the area have not faced such incident before” said Mahfouz Safai, the deputy head of Kapisa’s provincial council told the press.

Security sources in Kapisa province say a young girl was killed by her family in the province.
An official source, who did not want to be named, confirmed to Khaama Press the girl was killed by her family overnight (Friday) in the provincial capital.
According to this source, the young girl was buried by her family after being killed.
The source further said the main reason for the murder of this girl was the discovery of her uncle’s daughter’s cellphone hidden with her.
The girl’s cousin had reportedly run away from home two days before the incident.
On the other hand, the girl’s cousin is currently being held in a women’s shelter.
So far, the security services have not said anything about the issue.
