Afghan Voice Agency (AVA)_Monitoring, Mufti Ismatullah Burhan, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Mines, said in an interview with a private radio that Currently, negotiations with Turkmenistan are ongoing regarding the TAPI project.
Engineer Wahidullah Halimi, Deputy Professional of the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum, has traveled to Turkmenistan at the head of a delegation, to discuss obstacles of the TAPI project, he added.
Burhan said “Turkmenistan has pledged to cooperate in the construction of Herat’s urban gas network and industrial park, and the technical teams of both sides will soon start working on the matter.

Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs said lately, in a meeting with businessmen and investors in Herat that the residents of Herat will benefit from the privileges of the huge TAPI project.
With the completion of the TAPI project, Turkmenistan’s gas will be transferred through Afghanistan to Pakistan and then to India, the construction of its pipeline facilities has started in Turkmenistan and has reached the border of Afghanistan.
