Qatar criticizes Germany for double standards regarding the World Cup
After the German Interior Minister's critical comments about Qatar's hosting of the World Cup, which caused tension in the relations between the two countries, Qatar's Foreign Minister criticized Germany's "double standards" regarding the World Cup.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): Qatar's Foreign Minister Mohammad bin Abdul Rahman Al Thani said in an interview with the German newspaper "Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung" that: On the one hand, the German people are being misled by government politicians, and on the other hand, the government of this country says that There is no problem with us in the field of partnership or investment in the energy sector.

He added: We are saddened by these double standards. In the 12 years since it was chosen to host the World Cup, Qatar has faced a systematic campaign against it, a campaign that no other country has faced before.

According to IRNA, Qatar's foreign minister continued: "It's funny because this kind of thing happens in European countries that call themselves liberal democrats."

After the German Minister of Interior's critical statements about Qatar's hosting of the World Cup, Qatar's Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned the German ambassador and submitted a protest note to German Interior Minister Nancy Feiser's statements regarding Qatar's hosting of the 2022 World Cup.

German Interior Minister Pfizer recently criticized Qatar's human rights record in an interview with local media.

Earlier, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani considered the criticisms of some critics of Qatar's hosting of the World Cup to be harsh and slanderous.

Sheikh Tamim said: Since Qatar won the bid to host the 2022 World Cup, it has faced unprecedented criticism, some of which were slander.

The Emir of Qatar said in a televised speech: "At first we dealt with this issue in good faith and some of the initial criticisms were constructive." Later, the campaign against Qatar expanded and included fake news and double standards, which were so intense that, unfortunately, many people questioned what the real reasons and motivations behind this campaign were.

Qatar is hosting the World Cup in less than a month, a big one for a small country that has made it the center of attention.
