Democrats control the US Senate
With the announcement of the continuation of the counting of votes for the mid-term elections in the United States, the Democratic Party of this country has so far managed to win 50 seats in the Senate, not counting one seat whose fate has not yet been determined and has been moved to the second round. This party has the majority in the Senate.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): The Associated Press and Reuters news agencies have reported that the candidate of the American Democratic Party in the state of Nevada, after a few days of tight competition that was intensified by the counting of postal and absentee ballots, surpassed his Republican rival and won the midterm elections.

With this account, Senator Catherine Cortezmasto retained the seat of Democrats from this state in the US Senate, and with this victory, the number of Democratic senators in the Senate reached 50.

This is while the election in the state of Georgia has been extended to the second round, and if the current senator of Georgia wins, the number of Democrats in the Senate will reach 51.

Having said that, the Democratic Party has been able to keep control of the US Senate. The majority, which was 50-50 before, was broken by the vote of the first vice president in favor of the Democrats.

But in the interim elections of the House of Representatives, despite the Republicans' lead, the final composition of this House has not yet been determined. The Republicans hope to gain the majority in the House of Representatives by changing a few more seats.

It has been said that so far, the Republicans have taken over 211 seats and the Democrats have taken over 204 seats in the House of Representatives; however, the results of more than 30 other seats are still unknown.

To win the majority, the Republicans need to reach 218, in which case they need to lose at least 6 more seats from the Democratic representatives while keeping all the seats of their previous term.

It should be mentioned that the counting of postal and absentee votes is still going on and the final results will be known in the coming days.
