Erdoğan: Greece should abandon its plans against Turkey
Turkish President stated that his country has no plan to launch a missile attack on Greece and said: Athens should abandon its plans against Turkey and stop encroaching on Ankara's rights and interests in the Aegean Sea.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): According to media reports, Greece plans to expand its maritime borders from 6 to 12 miles in the south and west of the Crete Sea. In response, Turkey has said that it will not allow Greek waters to extend even one mile towards the Aegean Sea.

Speaking at a ceremony in Antalya, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said Greece should drop its anti-Turkish plans in the Aegean Sea because Ankara has no plans to launch a missile attack on Athens.

He explained about this: Greece should stop trying to encroach on Turkey's rights and interests in the region, including in the Aegean Sea.

Reacting to the Greek media report about the threat of Typhoon missiles, the Turkish president added: In the latest tests, the modified missiles accurately hit their targets at a distance of 561 kilometers.

Erdoğan continued: The Greek media started writing about the range of the Typhoon missile with concern and claimed that Ankara could attack Athens. We do not have such a goal! Retaliatory measures will only be taken if Turkey's interests are threatened.

The Greeks claim to help the security of the region by adopting a policy based on international laws. Greece says that it pursues its foreign policy based on the rules of international law and the law of the seas and in full compliance with the principles of the United Nations Charter.

Turkey successfully tested the Typhoon short-range ballistic missile. This missile was launched from an airport near the city of Rize and fell after traveling 561 km near the port city of Sinop.

Ankara has already announced that it considers the expansion of Greek waters as a reason for war. Turkey believes that if Greece expands its territorial waters, it will effectively cut off Turkish waters and deny Ankara access to international waters, and this country will be trapped in its territorial waters.
