Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: A diplomatic source and two other sources told Reuters that Saudi Arabia's diplomats left the country by air and moved to Pakistan late last week due to warnings about the increased risk of attacks in Kabul.
However, the Islamic Emirate said that their departure was temporary and not for security reasons.
Zabihullah Mujahid said that the closing of the Saudi Arabian embassy is not true, but that their diplomats were asked to go to Saudi Arabia for training for a week and then they will return, and the rumors in this regard are not true.
Earlier, Al-Arabiya media reported that a number of Arab and Western countries have closed their embassies in Kabul and expelled their diplomats. This media had reported security threats as the reason for the diplomats' departure.
