Local officials, cultural and media activists, and religious experts in Herat province have condemned the bloody attack on the gathering of journalists and cultural activists in the office of the Tebyan Social Cultural Activities Center and the Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) in Mazar-e-Sharif, Saturday, (March 11) and they called it a cowardly move by the enemy.

In this regard, Maulavi Nisar Ahmad Ilyas, representing the Herat province official, told AVA reporter that Herat local administration condemns any action that harms our dear compatriots.
 
He further prayed to the Izad Manan court for the martyrs of this incident to rest in peace, for their survivors, and for the speedy recovery of the injured, and said that the local administration of Herat shares in the grief of the compatriots.
 
Maulavi Elias also emphasized: Herat's local administration is obliged to support journalists and media.
 
On the other hand, Maulana Naeem-ul-Haq Haqqani, Herat's head of information and culture, told Ava reporter in this regard: "In the heartbreaking incident that happened in Balkh province at the same time as the National Day of Journalists, unfortunately, including journalists, a number of compatriots also lost their lives. They lost their lives and some were injured, which is strongly condemned."
