Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Herat: On the eve of World Quds Day, on the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan, the Cultural Department of the Consulate General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Herat, organized a specialized seminar on "Media Terrorism" and a photo exhibition entitled "Al Quds" on Wednesday April 5, which was held in this province with the presence of a large number of scholars, media activists and students.
In this ceremony, Mohammad Sadiqifar, the Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Herat, in a simple statement, defined media terrorism as the slaughter of the truth and the promotion of lies in the society by many media.
He also referred to media terrorism as the promotion of modern ignorance in today's society and stated: In the past, every person had the opportunity to distinguish between true and false news by observing and reflecting on media news, but today, with the bombardment of this information, The opportunity to recognize has been taken away from people and this is a kind of modern ignorance.
The Consul General of Iran in Herat also stated in another part of his speech: Media terrorism has given this opportunity to arrogant countries and groups like America and Israel to cover up their crimes.
He called the promotion of independent and ethical media and increasing media literacy as solutions to deal with media terrorism.
In the continuation of his speech, referring to the World Quds Day, Sadiqifar emphasized: World Quds Day is not an Iranian ceremony, but this issue should be the concern of all Muslims and it requires us to recognize our common and main enemy.
On the other hand, Dr. Majid Khaleqnia, the head of the cultural department of the Consulate General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Herat, said regarding the holding of this seminar: In this program, the example of the media terrorism of the occupying regime of Israel, America and its allies in different eras, when they encroached on Islamic lands has been paid
He stated that today the media and institutions of the domination and arrogance system are trying to humiliate and deny the facts in different lands.
Khaleqnia added: Media terrorism at its highest level always targets the unity of Islamic societies and seeks to damage the relationship of Islamic societies.
Referring to the holding of the "Quds Lena" exhibition, he stated that this exhibition tells the story of the cruelty of the child-killing Zionist regime on the oppressed people of Palestine.
