Last year, more than 58 thousand metric tons of sugarcane were harvested in the country
The Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock says that last year 58,394 metric tons of sugarcane were harvested from 1,750 hectares of land under sugarcane cultivation in the country.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: The Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock has tweeted today, Saturday, April 29, 2023, that according to the statistics collected by the Department of Statistics of this Ministry, 58,394 metric tons of sugarcane from the area of 1,000 and 705 hectares of land under sugarcane cultivation have been harvested in the country.
 
The ministry added: The largest area of sugarcane cultivation is located in Nangarhar province, where a total of 49,394 metric tons have been harvested from its 1,400-hectare area. In addition to Nangarhar province, sugarcane has also been cultivated in Khost, Kunar, and Laghman provinces.
 
According to this ministry, in 1401, one thousand and 705 hectares of land across the country were covered with sugarcane, most of which are in the provinces of Nangarhar, Kunar, Khost and Laghman.
 
It should be noted that the collected sugarcane harvest in Afghanistan is mostly used in the production of sugar and sugar, and at the same time, the market for selling sugarcane juice is also hot in the big cities of Afghanistan.
