The consultative meeting of Arab countries will be held in Jordan with the presence of Syria
The consultative meeting of the foreign ministers of the Arab countries regarding the developments in Syria will be held tomorrow in Jordan with the presence of Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal al-Maqdad.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Jordan announced that it will host a meeting of foreign ministers of five Arab countries, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Egypt and Jordan tomorrow (Monday, May 1) with the presence of Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal al-Maqdad.
 
According to the official statement published by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Jordan, this meeting will be held in continuation of the consultative meeting of the member states of the Arab Gulf Cooperation Council, Jordan, Iraq and Egypt, which was held on April 14, 2023, hosted by Saudi Arabia in Jeddah.
 
The consultative meeting of the Arab countries for the return of Syria to the Arab League was held in Jeddah on Friday, April 14th, with the presence of representatives and officials of nine countries, which ended with a final statement.
 
In the final and joint statement of this consultative meeting, which was published the next day (Saturday, April 15th), it was emphasized that the countries of Jordan, Egypt and Iraq, together with the members of the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council, emphasized the unity of Syria and demanded its return to the group of Arab countries.
 
A week after that, Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan arrived in Damascus, the capital of Syria after 12 years, and met with President Bashar Assad and other Syrian officials. In his meeting with Assad, he said that Riyadh emphasizes on preserving the territorial integrity, Arab identity and security of Syria and solving the crisis of this country through politics.
