In the continuation of the insulting of Muslim sanctities in Sweden under the pretext of freedom of speech, the police of this country announced that they have issued a protest permit, whose organizer plans to recite the Quran outside the main mosque of Stockholm yesterday, Wednesday (June 28), at the beginning of the three-day Eid al-Adha holiday.

The Swedish police said in a statement that the security risks associated with this heinous act "are not of such a nature that, based on current laws, the decision to reject the request (to hold such a rally) should be rejected."

According to AFP, the green light for desecrating the Holy Quran was given two weeks after the appeals court rejected the decision of the police to deny permission for two gatherings. The police stated that the reason for the decision to reject such a demonstration was security concerns after insulting the Koran in front of the Turkish embassy in January, which led to weeks of protests, embargo on Swedish goods, and Turkey's continued opposition to Sweden's membership in NATO.

Swedish police banned two consecutive requests, one by an individual and another by an organization, with the aim of burning the Koran in front of the Turkish and Iraqi embassies in Stockholm in February. The appeals court ruled in mid-June that the police made a mistake in banning them.

The request for today's demonstration was made by 37-year-old Salvan Momika, the same person who made the previous request. Swedish police said on Wednesday that they had called in reinforcements from across the country to maintain order. AFP reporter reported that several police cars have been present near the mentioned mosque since this morning.

Although Swedish politicians have criticized the desecration of the Quran, they claim that "freedom of expression" should be defended. Earlier, the Turkish Foreign Minister said that the government of this country is complicit in this malicious act, which has nothing to do with freedom of thought, regarding the desecration of the Holy Quran in Sweden.

Far-right politician Rasmus Paludan set fire to this holy book in front of the Turkish embassy in the capital of Sweden on Saturday (1st of Aquarius) insulting the Holy Qur'an and insulting Muslims. Following this incident, Turkey canceled the meeting with the Swedish Defense Minister and summoned the Stockholm ambassador. Many Muslim countries also expressed their anger at the burning of the Koran in Sweden.
