Reactions to the desecration of the Holy Quran in Sweden; Islamic countries condemned this "anti-religious" move
Many Islamic countries, including Iran, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, and Jordan, reacted to the burning of a copy of the Holy Quran in Sweden and strongly condemned this "anti-religious" move. Islamic countries have also warned that such actions would hurt the "sentiments" of Muslims around the world.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): The Iraqi government has condemned the decision of the Swedish authorities to allow an "extremist" group to burn the Holy Quran.
 
The Iraqi authorities have also announced that they will prosecute the perpetrator of desecration of the Holy Quran in the capital of Sweden and will proceed with his extradition and trial in this country.
 
The Islamic Republic of Iran also condemned the burning of the Quran in Sweden and called it "provocative, wrong and unacceptable".
 
On the other hand, Saudi Arabia also condemned the burning of the Muslim Bible and said that "these cruel and frequent actions cannot be justified and accepted in any way."
 
The League of Arab States based in Cairo, the capital of Egypt, also called the burning of the Holy Quran "an attack on the foundations of Islam."
 
Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the president of Turkey, has said in response to the burning of the Holy Quran in Sweden: "As you are aware, Turkey will never bow down to provocative politics or threats."
 
Mr. Erdoğan is referring to Sweden's membership in NATO, which Turkey has so far opposed. Turkey has emphasized that until Sweden stops its anti-Islamic actions and confronts the terrorist groups living in this country, it will oppose the country's presence and membership in NATO.
 
The President of Turkey added: Sooner or later, the symbols of arrogance in the West will know that insulting the sanctities of Muslims is not freedom of opinion
 
On the other hand, the Jordanian government has summoned the Swedish ambassador. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Jordan has expressed its strong protest regarding allowing extremists to burn a copy of the Holy Quran.
 
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate also called the burning of a copy of the Holy Quran in Sweden a "hateful" and humiliating act and strongly condemned it.
 
The reaction of Islamic countries regarding the burning of the Koran in Sweden is taking place while the court of this country has issued a license to burn the Koran for tandoor groups in this country, contrary to the principle of respecting the beliefs of nearly 2 billion Muslims in the world.
