Sweden prohibits insulting the Holy Quran
Swedish authorities are looking to make changes to the law granting permission to desecrate the Holy Quran.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): The Minister of Justice of Sweden announced that this country is trying to make changes in the law granting licenses to those who insult the Quran.
 
According to this Swedish minister, the government is reviewing and evaluating this law and the harm that such laws can do to the country's security and image.
 
Last week, an Iraqi-origin immigrant who obtained Swedish citizenship, with the official permission of the Swedish government, burned the Koran on Eid al-Adha in front of the mosque in Stockholm, which caused many negative reactions inside and outside of Sweden.
 
The Vatican and Muslim scholars in Al-Azhar, Qom and Najaf strongly condemned this action.
 
Turkey also announced that with this action of Sweden, the country's membership in NATO is not possible with the continuation of such behaviors by the Swedish authorities, and its country will not agree to Stockholm's membership as long as these behaviors continue.
 
Following this action, Hussain Amir Abdullahian, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of our country, announced that despite the administrative procedures to send a new Iranian ambassador to Sweden, due to the boldness of the Holy Quran in this country, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will not have a plan to send a new ambassador for the time being.
 
Nasser Kanani, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in response to the permission and green light given by Sweden to anti-Islamists to repeat the boldness of the Holy Quran, said: laying the groundwork for repeating the desecration of the holy things in heaven, especially at the same time as the holy days of the Islamic Ummah and also the gathering of millions of Muslims. In the World Hajj Congress, it is a provocative, ill-considered and unacceptable action.
