Continued desecration of the Holy Quran in Europe, this time in Denmark
After two new insults to the Holy Quran in Europe in the last two weeks, yesterday an extremist group in Denmark, desecrating the Holy Quran, burned this holy book along with the Iraqi flag. Following this insult, Iraqi protesters gathered around Baghdad's green zone last night and demanded the expulsion of the Danish ambassador from this country.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): After two new insults to the Holy Quran in Europe in the last two weeks, a new insult to the Quran occurred in Denmark on Friday (July 21).

An extreme right-wing group in Denmark burned a copy of the Holy Quran in front of the Iraqi embassy in Copenhagen, the capital of this country, on Friday.

Members of a far-right group calling themselves "Danske Patrioter" (Patriots of Denmark) carried anti-Islamic flags and chanted insulting slogans against Islam in front of the Iraqi embassy in the Danish capital, Turkey's Anatolia news agency reported.

This insulting act happened just one day after on Thursday, July 20, for the second time in the last few weeks, the perpetrators of Koran burning in Sweden insulted the Holy Quran with the green light of the country's police and after receiving a permit for an anti-Islamic rally in Stockholm.

Regarding the insult to the Holy Quran in Denmark, Anatoly reporter reported that the followers of the extreme group of Danish patriots threw the Iraqi flag and the Holy Quran on the ground and trampled it. The extremist group also live-streamed this offensive act on their Facebook account.

In justifying this action, the mentioned group said that this attack on the holy area of the Holy Qur'an was carried out in protest against the attack of the protestors by burning the Qur'an on the Swedish embassy in Baghdad.

Reports indicate that this extremist group had insulted the Holy Quran in front of the Turkish Embassy in Copenhagen earlier in late January of this year.

On Thursday of last week, "Salvan Momika", an Iraqi-Swedish citizen, in an anti-Islam rally, once again insulted the Holy Quran with the support of the Swedish police and set fire to the Iraqi flag, after which a large number of Muslims also brought themselves to the place of insulting the Holy Quran and responded to the offending person with the slogans of "La Allah illa Allah" and "Muhammad Rasulullah".

Previously, on June 28, Selvan Momika (37 years old) in Stockholm, on the first day of the Eid al-Adha holiday, tore a copy of the Quran and set it on fire in the central mosque of this city. After that, the Iraqi judiciary ordered the arrest of this Swedish citizen of Iraqi origin, and the Iraqi Foreign Ministry asked the Swedish government to hand over the person who violated the Holy Quran to this country for trial.

On the other hand, in the continuation of the public anger against the Swedish government, on Thursday morning, a number of Iraqi people attacked the country's embassy in Baghdad and set it on fire in response to Sweden's issuance of permission to burn the Holy Quran again. Finally, with the intervention of the Iraqi security forces, the protesters dispersed from the front of the Swedish embassy, as a result of which all the activities of the Swedish embassy in Iraq were completely suspended.

In response to the desecration of the Holy Quran in Denmark, the spokesman of the Iraqi Foreign Ministry condemned the insulting of the Holy Quran and the Iraqi flag in front of the embassy in Denmark and called on the international community to stand against such crimes.

In this statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iraq emphasized its commitment to follow up developments related to these "heinous events" and clarified that such actions cannot be considered as an example of freedom of speech and freedom of assembly.

Also, following the renewed desecration of the Holy Quran and the burning of the Iraqi flag in Denmark, hundreds of angry Iraqi demonstrators gathered in front of Baghdad's green zone last night and demanded the expulsion of the Danish ambassador from Iraq.

The Russian "Arti" website reported this morning that following the renewed insult to the Holy Quran and the burning of the Iraqi flag in Denmark, the protesters stormed the gates of the Baghdad Green Zone and demanded to capture the Danish Embassy located in the Green Security Zone of Baghdad.

According to this report, the Iraqi security forces prevented angry Iraqi protesters from entering the green diplomatic zone of Baghdad by installing cement barriers in front of the entrances of the security zone.

This is despite the fact that the Friday prayers in different cities of Iran also expressed their anger at the insult to the Holy Quran in Europe with a march and protest rally yesterday afternoon.
