Afghan Voice Agency (AVA)_Monitoring, According to the state-owned news agency Bakhtar, the projects were worth 21 million Afghanis (about 256,100 U.S. dollars).
Under the projects, local authorities constructed roads, cleaned 106 km of irrigation canals, 57 culverts and two dams, and built a retaining wall in the Rodat district of Nangarhar province, Bakhtar said.
War-ridden Afghanistan is vulnerable to earthquakes and floods, and the eastern provinces are among the most stricken regions that endure infrastructure damage from natural disasters.
