The ISIS terrorist group has claimed responsibility for the explosion in the Imam Zaman (AJ) mosque in the vicinity of Pul Khomri city, the capital of Baghlan province in the northeast of the country, which resulted in the martyrdom and wounding of more than 30 people.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: According to the New York Times newspaper, Daesh published a photo and said that this attack was carried out by a suicide bomber.
 
In the early morning (Friday, October 13, 2023), an explosion occurred during the Friday prayer in the Imam Zaman (AJ) mosque on the first Silavi road of Pul Khomri city, Baghlan center.
 
Public sources consider this explosion to be a suicide attack and say that the suicide bomber blew himself up at the gate of the mosque.
 
Local sources in Baghlan Province, quoting the health officials of this province, say that the bodies of nearly 30 martyrs of today's terrorist explosion in Imam Zaman Mosque (AJ) in Pul Khumri city have been transferred to the hospital of this city.
 
The Security Command of the Islamic Emirate in Baghlan has also confirmed the martyrdom of seven people and the wounding of 15 others.
 
The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Kabul also wrote in an article on X social network: "Today, extremist terrorists who have the support of the United States and the Zionist regime, committed a violent and bloody terrorist incident in the Imam Zaman Mosque in the city of Pul Khumri, the center of Baghlan province, during the Friday prayer. They committed and caused the martyrdom and injury of innocent Afghan worshipers."
