Bashar Assad: The Zionists want to reverse the recent victory of Palestine
Syrian President Bashar Assad, in a meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Amir Abdullahian, said that the Zionists and their supporters want to return the victory of the Palestinian people in the recent developments to the past or turn it into a ground to destroy the resistance.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): Iran's Foreign Minister Hussain Amir Abdullahian, who visited Damascus on the third destination of his trip to the region following the ongoing developments in Palestine and the Gaza Strip, met with President Bashar al-Assad on Friday evening (October 13, 2023).

In this meeting, Amir Abdullahian called the main purpose of his trip to Damascus to consult and exchange opinions about the developments in Palestine.

He described the merciless killing of people, children, women and the elderly in Gaza and the siege and cut off of water, electricity and fuel in this area and the bombing of houses, public and service and medical facilities in Gaza as a war crime and said: some international and western authorities are in contact and Talking to us, they consider Netanyahu's extreme policies and his provocative actions to be the cause of the Al-Aqsa storm operation, while the Westerners call on all parties except the Zionist regime to exercise restraint. They say that contrary to imagination, Al-Aqsa storm showed that Palestine is still alive.

Mentioning that Iran and Syria's support for the resistance of the Palestinian nation is not hidden from anyone, he clarified: But the recent operation of the Palestinians was a completely Palestinian decision, design and action.

This high-ranking Iranian diplomat pointed out that the West seeks to falsify the facts in Gaza to justify and legitimize the crimes of the Zionists, and said: The resistance has the ability to continue resisting the Zionist regime for a long time.

Amir Abdullahian said: America cannot demand restraint from others and at the same time it has supported the Zionist regime with weapons to be used against Palestinian citizens.

Referring to the complicated and painful conditions in Gaza due to the war crimes of the Zionists against the civilians and its residents, Amir Abdullahian said: The efforts of all parties should be focused on preventing the continuation of the war crimes of the Zionists in Gaza. In this regard, the Islamic Republic of Iran has proposed the idea of holding an extraordinary meeting of foreign ministers of Islamic countries and has announced its readiness to host it.

In this meeting, Syrian President Bashar Assad also expressed his concern about the amount of crimes committed by the Zionists against the people of Gaza and said: The Zionists and their supporters want to return the victory of the Palestinian people in the recent developments to the past or to destroy it.

He considered the reason for the Westerners standing by the Zionist regime to be the dense political, economic and social crises of Israel and their concern about the danger of the collapse of this regime, and supporting Iran's political initiative to hold an extraordinary meeting of the foreign ministers of Islamic countries, he said: we must try to prevent the continuation of the barbaric crime of the Zionist regime against the people of Gaza.

In this meeting, some important topics of interest to the two countries were also discussed and exchanged. Iran's foreign minister previously visited Iraq and Lebanon and discussed recent developments with the officials of these countries.

The head of Iran's diplomatic service had previously called the al-Aqsa storm a 100% resistance operation and while condemning the crimes of the Zionist regime in the Gaza Strip, warned against the occurrence of a major humanitarian disaster in Gaza.

He also called for holding an extraordinary meeting of foreign ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in a conversation with his counterparts in a number of Islamic countries, and called it necessary to hold an extraordinary high-level meeting about Palestine in Lebanon.

Iran's readiness to send food, medicine and drinking water to Gaza was one of the other issues raised by Amir Abdullahian.
