The hands of government officials have been shortened from contracts and tenders

Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: Hebatullah Akhundzada, the leader of the Islamic Emirate, issued a decree in August last year, which emphasized that none of the government officials can participate in government contracts and tenders.
 
In this decree, in addition to prohibiting the officials and agents of the Islamic Emirate directly and indirectly in the procurement of goods, providing services, extracting mines, companies in which the officials or government officials have a share are also not allowed.
 
Now, the officials of the Afghanistan Chamber of Industries and Mines say that the participation of government officials in the tender processes and contracts had created serious challenges in the past.
 
Sakhi Ahmad Peyman, the deputy of the Afghanistan Chamber of Industries and Mines, told AVA reporter that by implementing the decree of the leader of the Islamic Emirate, government officials don’t have access to contracts.
 
He pointed out that this order ensures better transparency and prevents corruption.
 
Based on the terms of the agreement; Getting contracts from government officials and then handing over contracts in the previous government would leave little money for the main project.
 
He pointed out that in some cases a contract changed hands five times and this caused the project to end with little money and poor quality.
 
However, officials in the Ministry of Economy say that the order of the leader of the Islamic Emirate has been fully implemented.
 
Abdul Latif Nazari, the deputy of this ministry, emphasizes that this decree was issued with the aim of eliminating corruption and creating transparency in governance.
 
Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Economy said: "The political philosophy of this order is to prevent possible corruption and there should still be transparency in the structure of the system, including the financial aspect, and this order has now been fully implemented and the Islamic Emirate of this follows in a transparent way."
 
At the same time, a number of experts on economic issues stated in an interview with Ava reporter that some high-ranking government officials in the previous government always talked about fighting corruption; but they had become the owners of millions of dollars by obtaining illegal contracts.
 
Lal Zazi, an economic expert, told AVA reporter that the Islamic Emirate has implemented the slogan of fighting corruption and proved its success in relation to the Republic.
 
Zazi added that during the republic, those who claimed purity the most; they were more corrupt.
 
Mir Shakib Mir, another expert on economic issues, also said in this regard: "Prohibiting the participation of the officials of the Islamic Emirate in procurement contracts has reduced corruption and can improve transparency, and on the other hand, it will create the basis for healthy competition of the private sector in obtaining contracts and to provide services.
