Breshna Company announced the extension of the electricity import contract from Tajikistan for another year
Afghanistan Electricity Company (Brashna) has announced that the electricity import contract from Tajikistan has been extended for 2024.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: According to Breshna, this contract was signed in the meeting of Mohammad Hanif Hamzah, the executive director of the mentioned company, with Mohammad Omar Asuzadah, the head of the Tajikistan Electric Company in Turkey.

In the Breshna newsletter published today (Wednesday, December 27), it is stated that during the meeting, the two sides also discussed the transfer of a 500 KV power line from Tajikistan to Afghanistan, and Tajikistan has shown interest in this regard.

According to the Breshna newsletter, the head of this company has asked Tajikistan to cooperate with Afghanistan in restarting, coordinating and implementing the "Casa One Thousand" project.

In the "Casa Ik Hazar" project, the electricity of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan is supposed to be transferred to Afghanistan and Pakistan through energy transmission lines with a length of 1,250 km.

The work of this project started at the end of 2018 in Afghanistan; But apparently it has stopped without progress.

Currently, Afghanistan is heavily dependent on imported electricity from its neighboring countries. This country imports electricity from Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Iran.
