6.9 million dollar project of the World Health Organization and Japan in support of Afghanistan
The World Health Organization has announced the signing of a project contract worth 6.9 million dollars with the Japan Cooperation Organization (JICA) in the field of supporting Afghanistan's health sector in the fight against infectious diseases.


Afghan Voice News Agency (AVA) - Kabul: This contract was signed during the visit of Lu Dapeng, the representative of the World Health Organization in Afghanistan to Japan.
 
In the announcement of the World Health Organization, it is stated that the purpose of the project is to deal with infectious diseases and reduce the impact of these diseases on the people of Afghanistan, and 76 thousand people will benefit from this project.
 
The project is said to focus on the Afghan-Japan Hospital and the National Hospital for Infectious Diseases in Kabul and two health centers dedicated to the treatment of infectious diseases.
 
Kiyoshi Amada, JICA's senior representative, hoped that this project would keep Afghan citizens, including mothers, children and others, healthier and save their lives.
 
The World Health Organization has added that the delegation of this organization has also met and discussed with the officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan and the ambassador of this country in Afghanistan.
 
The representative of the World Health Organization in Afghanistan has said that Japan, as one of the main partners, has worked with Afghan health professionals to improve the provision of health services and develop Afghanistan's human resources in the health sector.
