Dialogue between Iran and Uzbekistan on humanitarian issues and sustainable peace in Afghanistan
The special representative of the President of Uzbekistan, in a meeting with the Deputy Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, expressed the desire of their countries to develop joint measures to solve the humanitarian crisis and establish lasting peace in Afghanistan.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan has informed about the conversation of Ismatullah Irgashev, the special representative of the President of this country for Afghanistan affairs, with Ali Bagheri Keni, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs.

According to the ministry's newsletter, Esmatullah Irgashev and Ali Bagheri Keni, Iran's deputy foreign minister, exchanged views on the efforts of the two countries to expand cooperation in the field of Afghanistan.

In the newsletter of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, it is stated that the senior diplomat of Iran emphasized the active participation of Uzbekistan in establishing long-term and stable peace in Afghanistan.

The Ministry has said that the Uzbek and Iranian officials expressed their countries' desire to develop joint measures to solve the humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan and peace in this country.

In another newsletter, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan announced the virtual conversation between Ismatullah Irgashev and Andrew McCobry, the British Prime Minister's special representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan.

According to the newsletter, the parties discussed the current situation in Uzbekistan and British cooperation in Afghanistan.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, the special representative of this country also discussed with the British diplomat about the upcoming meeting of the special representatives on Afghanistan in February in Doha, Qatar.

The two sides have considered the Doha meeting as important in coordinating the efforts of the international community in finding effective solutions for stability in Afghanistan as well as providing humanitarian aid to the people of this country.

A follow-up meeting of special representatives of countries and regional organizations is scheduled to be held in Doha on February 18 and 19, hosted by the UN Secretary General.

The purpose of holding this meeting is to discuss how to approach increasing international participation about Afghanistan in a coherent, coordinated and structured manner, taking into account the recommendations of the independent evaluation about this country.
