Pakistani Consulate Official Shot Dead by Unknown Gunmen in Nangarhar
An employee of Pakistani Consulate General has been shot dead by unknown gunmen in Jalalabad City of eastern Nangarhar province of Afghanistan, officials confirmed Monday.

AVA- The Provincial Governor’s Spokesman, Attaullah Khoygani said that Iqbal Rana was killed by two unknown gunmen riding a motorcycle on Monday evening.

The gunmen fled after the incident. No group claimed responsibility.

According to Khogyani, the Pakistani diplomat did not inform the Afghan security forces while leaving his office for shopping in the city.

This comes months after two Pakistani diplomats were kidnapped on the Jalalabad-Torkham highway of Nangarhar which later recovered by Afghan security forces.

Nangarhar is among the insecure provinces in eastern part of Afghanistan, where the insurgents groups including the Taliban and Islamic state militants have presence in its number of remote areas.
