1,374 civilian deaths in Afghanistan in last 8 months of 2017: CPAG
At least 1,374 non-combatants died in Afghanistan during the last 8 months of 2017, Civilian Protection Advocacy Group said in a report released Wednesday.

AVA- The report said that 2.362 civilians were injured during the period.

The casualties were caused in airstrikes, suicide attacks and bombings, which mostly happened in capital Kabul, Nangarhar, Herat, Ghor, Kunduz and Helmand.

More than 300 civilians have been killed while 924 more injured in suicide and bomb attacks, according to the report.

229 civilian casualties were caused by U.S. and Afghan airstrikes, of which 62 deaths were caused by U.S. airstrikes, based on the report.

The group accused the warring parties of violating international laws and urged them to prevent civilian casualties.
