Afghanistan beat Oman by 112 runs in Emerging Teams Asia Cup
Afghanistan defeated Oman by 112 runs in their last match of Emerging Teams Asia Cup in Sri Lanka on Monday.
AVA- Opting to bat first after winning the toss, Afghanistan posted 252 before they were all out in the last of 50 overs.
Captain Najibullah Zadran hit 83 off 67 balls while bowler Qais Ahmad scored 66 off 77 balls.
In chase of the 253-run target, Oman were bowled in the 39.5 overs, having scored 140.
Karim Janat, Ziaur Rehman and Najibullah Zadran claimed two wickets each. Sindo Michal’s 54 was Oman’s highest individual score.
The win was first for Afghanistan in the tournament after defeats against India and Sri Lanka. They finish third in the four-team Group A and have failed to advance to the knockout stage of the tournament.
India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh have made it to the next stage.
