On the eve of the cold season in Afghanistan, the United Nations Children's Fund, warning of a difficult winter for the people, requested 75 million dollars from donor countries.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): UNICEF said in a report on Thursday, 28 May that it has developed a winter strategy to provide humanitarian aid to the people of Afghanistan, especially children, and needs financial support.

This fund said that it needs 75 million dollars for its programs and financial needs in the coming winter.

The goal of UNICEF's winter strategy is to cover more than 800,000 tons by distributing financial aid to empower families.

UNICEF has cited economic shock and drought, conflict and Covid-19 as the main drivers of poverty, saying that needs have exceeded the threshold of humanitarian capacity.

Referring to the incident at Kaj school in the west of Kabul, the Children's Protection Fund said: "Security incidents continue to affect the population across the country, and the attack on Kaj continues to show the insecurity of students, especially girls, while continuing their education."

However, UNICEF also warns of the possibility of more diseases in the coming winter.

Meanwhile, some other relief organizations have also warned about the upcoming difficult winter due to the expansion of the scope of poverty.
