Erdogan: We killed the leader of ISIS in Syria
Appearing on TV, the President of Turkey announced that the leader of ISIS was killed during the operations of this country's intelligence agents in Syria.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced on Sunday evening that the forces of the Intelligence Organization (MIT) killed the leader of the ISIS terrorist group in Syria during an operation.

He announced in a televised speech that "Abu Hossein Al-Quraishi", the leader of the ISIS terrorist group, was killed during an operation carried out by the forces of the country's intelligence organization in Syria on Saturday.

Erdoğan said that Turkey will continue to fight against terrorist groups without discrimination and added: Abu Hussain al-Quraishi was under the surveillance of Turkey's National Intelligence Organization for a long time.

On November 30, ISIS announced the death of the leader of this group, Abu Hassan al-Hashemi, and replacing him with Abu Hussein al-Quraishi.

An AFP correspondent in northern Syria said that Turkish intelligence agents and local military forces supported by Turkey blocked an area in Jinders in the northwest of Afrin region on Saturday.

Announcing this news on the eve of Turkey's presidential election (Turkey 24) can strengthen the position of Erdogan, whose military presence in Syria has imposed a lot of costs on the Turkish people and has provoked a lot of criticism.

The Syrian government considers Turkey's presence in its territory illegal and has repeatedly asked Ankara to leave Syrian territory.
