Pakistan: We are not looking for war with India
Shahbaz Sharif, the Prime Minister of Pakistan, says that this country is not looking for war with India and Pakistan's nuclear power is for defense purposes and not for aggression.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): The Prime Minister of Pakistan stated on Tuesday (August 1) that this country is not looking for war with India and is trying to resolve the remaining differences with this neighboring country.

According to "Outlook India" website, Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif stated that war is not an option and said that Islamabad is ready to negotiate with India to resolve all remaining issues.

Sharif said: "We are ready to talk with everyone, even with our neighbor India, provided that the neighboring country is serious about talking about issues, because war is no longer an option."

His comments were made in the midst of ongoing tension in India-Pakistan relations in the field of terrorism and the Kashmir issue. Since 1947 and after the independence of India and Pakistan from British colonialism, India and Pakistan have fought three times. In the last confrontation, 9,000 Pakistani soldiers were killed and more than 25,000 of them were injured.

India also lost four thousand dead and wounded. This war led to the drawing of the "line of control" in the Kashmir region, according to which the state of "Jammu and Kashmir" centered on the city of "Sringar" was given to India and the mountainous areas with less population were given to Pakistan.

Sharif's comments came as his coalition government prepares to face elections at the end of the five-year parliamentary term.

Talking about the history of war between Pakistan and India, the Prime Minister of Pakistan said that the conflict has led to increase in poverty, unemployment and lack of financial resources for education, health and welfare of the people.

He said that Pakistan's nuclear power is for defense purposes and not for aggression. Sharif emphasized that Pakistan is well aware of the dark side of nuclear conflict, India should also understand it.

The spokesperson of Pakistan's Foreign Ministry recently condemned the statements of the Indian Defense Minister that the country's forces are ready to cross the Line of Control. Addressing the leaders of India, he said that Pakistan is capable of defending itself. Indian Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said that if needed, the Indian Army will not hesitate to cross the Line of Control.
