Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: The US Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction (SIGAR) said in its 60th report that it recently presented to the US Congress that the United States is still the biggest donor to the Afghan people.
In this report, SIGAR said that he considers the level of intervention of the Islamic Emirate in the process of distributing humanitarian aid and the inability of the United Nations to protect the programs of this organization to be worrying.
John Sepko, the general of SIGAR, said that the issue is no longer whether the Islamic Emirate is diverting the aid meant for the people of Afghanistan, but the issue is how much aid they are diverting.
He added that he had already received numerous claims about the diversion of aid by the Islamic Emirate, and these claims were confirmed in an interview with sources.
"My staff and I find the level of interference and apparent inability of the United Nations to protect our programs to be deeply troubling," Sepko said.
Meanwhile, the Islamic Emirate denies interfering in humanitarian programs and accuses the United States and other Western donors of politicizing aid to Afghanistan.
It should be mentioned that yesterday, Khalil al-Rahman Haqqani, the Acting Minister of Refugees and Returnees of the Islamic Emirate, also said that some aid organizations give away 80% of the aid and give 20% to the people of Afghanistan.
