The downing of 42 drones in Ukraine
The Russian Defense Ministry reported this morning on Friday, August 25, that the country's army has so far shot down 42 Ukrainian drones during the "rare" attack by Ukrainian forces on the Crimean peninsula.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): The Ministry of Defense of Russia has confirmed that it has shot down 33 of these drones using electronic warfare tools before hitting the designated targets.
 
On Thursday, August 24, coinciding with Ukraine's Independence Day, Kyiv announced a rare commando operation in the Crimean peninsula, after which the country's flag was raised on the peninsula.
 
In other news, the White House announced that US President Joe Biden and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky discussed the start of training Ukrainian pilots to fly F-16 fighter jets. The Pentagon announced Thursday that it will begin training Ukrainian F-16 pilots in the United States next month.
 
Recently, during Zelenskiy's visit to Denmark and the Netherlands, two European Union member states emphasized their commitment to deliver their F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine.
