Afghan Voice Agency (AVA); Iran's Khayyam satellite was launched this morning at 10:20 a.m. from the Baikonur Space Center in Kazakhstan. This satellite with a weight of 600 kg was launched into the orbit of 500 km of the earth by Soyuz satellite carrier. The operational life of this satellite is 5 years.
 
Khayyam satellite is a remote sensing satellite, all orders related to the control and operation of this satellite are carried out and issued from the first day and immediately after the launch by Iranian experts located in the space bases belonging to the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology in the territory of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
 
The satellite operation control center, command sending and satellite data acquisition stations of the Khayyam satellite are only in the territory of the Islamic Republic of Iran and under the management of the Iranian Space Organization, and Iranian engineers and researchers are stationed there.
 
Considering the peaceful and civilian activities and goals of the Iranian Space Organization, Khayyam satellite images are used to improve the ability to manage and plan in various fields of agriculture, natural resources, environment, water resources, mines and border monitoring, management of unexpected events, etc
