The hostage takers belonged to the terrorist group Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan and 4 security forces were also killed in the above operation.

The spokesman of the Pakistani army announced this morning that the place where the hostages were taken was completely cleared and all the agents involved in this terrorist act, who were 25 people, were killed.
 
Major General Ahmad Sharif added that the terrorists were trying to be transferred to Afghanistan, but the security forces of Pakistan never gave in to their demands and a decision was made to conduct a unified operation against the hostage takers.
