The warring parties in Sudan have agreed to extend a one-week ceasefire brokered by Saudi Arabia.

Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): Based on Al Jazeera's report, this agreement was reached on Saturday night, May 21, with the mediation of Saudi Arabia in Jeddah.
Although more details about this agreement have not been made public so far, the "Coalition of Forces for Freedom and Change" in Sudan announced that a new ceasefire is likely to be announced between the warring forces in Sudan.
Sharif Mohammad Othman, the spokesman of this coalition, said that "the new agreement is the result of negotiations in Jeddah under the supervision of Saudi Arabia and the United States, and this ceasefire will last for ten days."
According to him, this ceasefire is in line with the distribution of humanitarian aid, protection of health centers and water and electricity in the affected areas of Sudan.
On the other hand, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken announced that he had a conversation with the commander of the Sudanese army, Abdul Fattah al-Barhan, regarding the ongoing negotiations to reach an effective end to the conflict and a ceasefire.
Armed conflicts in Sudan started on April 15, between the army forces and the support forces that quickly seized power.
Despite the establishment of seven rounds of ceasefire in Sudan and declaration of adherence by the parties, scattered conflicts continue.
