US Drone Kills Five in Afghanistan’s Kunar
At least five people lost their lives in a US killer drone attack in Afghanistan’s Eastern province of Kunar.

Local sources said on Saturday that the airstrike hit the Ghazi Abad village on Friday evening, press tv reported.

On February 24, a nine-year-old Afghan boy was killed in an airstrike carried out by the US-led forces in the Southern province of Helmand. His father and sister were also injured in the assault.

A day earlier, two people were killed in a similar attack in the Eastern province of Ghazni.

Many people have lost their lives in US-led airstrikes and operations in various parts of Afghanistan since the invasion of the country in 2001, with Afghans becoming increasingly outraged at the deadly assaults.

The United States claims the airstrikes target militants, but local sources say civilians have been the main victims.

Afghan President Hamid Karzai has repeatedly questioned the legality of the US drone strikes and on numerous occasions has called on Washington to stop the attacks.

The United Nations says the US-operated drone strikes pose a growing challenge to the international rule of law.(FNA)
