Four pro-government forces, nine Taliban killed in Herat clash
Four pro-government forces and nine Taliban militants were killed in a clash in Afghanistan's western Herat province early Saturday.

The clash started around 12:00a.m. in Karukh district and lasted until 4:00a.m., said Aminullah Amarkhil, the provincial police chief.
Four police and people’s uprising forces were killed while six others were killed in the clash which left also nine Taliban militants dead and 15 others wounded, he said.
Separately, 25 Taliban militants were killed in air raid after insurgents launched fresh attack on Maruf district of southern Kandahar province, provincial police chief Tadeen Khan said.
Afghan forces also suffered several casualties in the militant attack, security sources said.
