Contradictory reports about the suspension of teaching Jafari jurisprudence at Bamyan University
Six years have passed since the establishment of Jafari Jurisprudence Department at Bamyan University; however, some students in this field say that the teaching of Jafari jurisprudence has recently stopped and will be taught Hanafi jurisprudence. The president of Bamyan University, however, says that the Jafari jurisprudence department is still active and has not changed.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Bamyan: Karim (a pseudonym); A student of the Jafari Jurisprudence Department at Bamyan University says that he has spent three years studying Jafari Jurisprudence at the university, and at the beginning of the fourth year, teaching Jafari Jurisprudence was stopped and Hanafi jurisprudence was taught instead.
 
"We have no problem with Hanafi jurisprudence, but the sudden entry into the field and the cessation of the field in which we have studied for three years has made things difficult for us," he told AVA.
 
A number of students in this department say that while the second graduation round of the students of Jafari Jurisprudence Department was to be held at the end of this year, the activity of this field in Bamyan University has been stopped by the head of the Faculty of Sharia.
 
Meanwhile, in 1397, a letter No. 2589 was sent by the Ministry of Higher Education to the President of Bamyan University, in which the university officials were asked to establish a Jafari jurisprudence department at Bamyan University.
 
The students of this department celebrated their first graduation last year; But this year, a number of students in the department say that the dean of the Faculty of Sharia at Bamyan University has stopped teaching Jafari jurisprudence at the college.
 
Mohammad Salem Faizi; The president of Bamyan University told AVA news agency: "The same method as in previous years is still taught at Bamyan University, and the only changes that have taken place are that the subject of Islamic culture in all departments has been increased to four credits.

Students in the field, say that teaching Jafari jurisprudence at Bamyan University has virtually stopped, and they are calling on the government to resume teaching Jafari jurisprudence within the Faculty of Sharia.
 
However, some sources have confirmed to Ava that no letter or order from the Ministry of Higher Education of the Islamic Emirate has been sent to stop the activity of Jafari Jurisprudence Department in Bamyan and Daikundi universities, the head of the Faculty of Sharia and the president of Bamyan University arbitrarily want to stop teaching the subjects of Jafari jurisprudence.
