Ayatollah Sistani called for immediate help to the earthquake victims of Turkey and Syria
The office of Grand Ayatollah Sistani issued a statement following the devastating earthquake in Turkey and Syria, while expressing sympathy with the people of these two countries, and demanded immediate provision of the necessary necessities for the earthquake victims.

Following the severe earthquake in Turkey and Syria and the increase in the number of dead and injured, Reuters news agency quoted Fua Oktay, the vice president of Turkey, as saying that the number of dead from Monday's earthquake in Turkey was 5,894 and the number of injured was more than 5,894. 34,000 people said.
 
According to this news agency, the Syrian government has said that the number of dead in Monday's earthquake is at least 1,932 people.
