180 killed and 1800 wounded; The result of three days of military conflict in Sudan
180 people were killed and more than 1,800 others were injured during the last three days of clashes between the army forces and the Rapid Support militia in Sudan.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): Volker Peretz, the UN Special Representative in Sudan, reported that 180 people were killed and more than 1,800 were injured during the clashes between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces.

Volker Peretz said the UN is trying to convince the other sides to stop hostilities. He said: UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres called Abdul Fattah al-Barhan, the commander of the Sudanese army, and Mohammad Hamdan Daqlou, the head of the rapid support forces, and asked them to end the conflicts.

The UN representative stated that the parties are asking each other to surrender and said: The two warring parties do not want mediation for peace between them in Yemen, although the UN will try to extend the ceasefire on Tuesday.

The situation in Sudan has been aggravated by the differences between the army commander, Abdul Fattah al-Barhan, who also heads the ruling council, and the head of the Rapid Support Forces, Mohammad Hamdan Daqlou, who is his deputy on the council.

On April 15, clashes broke out near a military base in Marwa city and in Khartoum.

Earlier on Monday, the Sudanese armed forces promised to observe a three-hour humanitarian ceasefire. On Sunday, the military agreed to a UN proposal to open humanitarian corridors for three hours a day. Rapid response forces have also announced that they are ready to observe a four-hour daily humanitarian shutdown.

However, these promises did not materialize and armed clashes resumed on Monday. The army suspended the ceasefire at the agreed time, but soon there were reports of renewed gunfire near the army headquarters in Khartoum.

On the other hand, at the same time as the conflicts and violence in Sudan, the employees of the American embassy in Khartoum have taken refuge and hid in a safe place.

John Kirby, the national security coordinator of the White House, announced that due to the closure of the airport and the escalation of violence, there is no plan for the withdrawal of American citizens from Sudan.

Kirby also added: "The escalation of dangerous tension in Sudan undermines previous political efforts, and we urge both sides to negotiate immediately."

The US National Security Council's strategic communications coordinator also said: "We call on the military and rapid response forces to stop the violence immediately."

On the other hand, EU foreign policy coordinator Josep Borrell announced that the EU ambassador in Khartoum was attacked inside his home.

Clashes continue in Sudan between the country's army and the rapid reaction militias. Meanwhile, the Sudanese army has claimed that Mohammad Hamdan Daghlo, known as Hamidti, has escaped from his hiding place.
