Ankara: We do not join the sanctions against Iran
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey once again emphasized that Ankara does not join the illegal sanctions of the West against the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): "Çavuşoğlu" yesterday (Tuesday, April 4), in an interview with "TV 100" in response to the question of which one is closer to Turkey, "NATO or Russia?" He said: Ankara does not abandon its basic principles in the development of relations with Russia.

He emphasized: We do not join the sanctions; Neither against Russia nor against Iran.

Turkey's foreign minister said to the opposition coalition in his country: Why should we join? What is our benefit in this field? Opponents say that if we rule, we will prove that we are a member of NATO and join the sanctions against Russia. Have you calculated the benefits and harms of this work for Türkiye? Why should we give up an independent policy to please some people?

Oglu added: Turkey is an unconditional member of NATO and a country that supports NATO activities and the expansion of this alliance.

Turkey's foreign minister stated that his country's foreign policy is a 360-degree policy and said: Russia, Persian Gulf countries, Islamic world, Asia, Caucasus, Africa and Latin America, we are everywhere and Ankara has its basic principles in developing relations with Russia.

Çavuşoğlu previously said in a joint press conference with US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken that Ankara does not support unilateral sanctions that are not approved by the United Nations and will not allow anyone to bypass these sanctions through Turkey.

"Ibrahim Galin", the spokesman of the Turkish presidency, also announced earlier that Ankara will not join the sanctions imposed against Russia because these sanctions will harm the Turkish economy more than anything else.

Moscow has repeatedly announced that Russia will overcome the pressure of sanctions imposed on it by the West several years ago and which is still increasing.

This is despite the fact that many political observers from different countries have acknowledged the ineffectiveness of the sanctions imposed on the Islamic Republic of Iran and demanded that the West reconsider its relations with Tehran.
