Richard Bennett: Pakistan should stop mass deportation of Afghan refugees
Richard Bennett, the special rapporteur of the United Nations on the human rights situation in Afghanistan, demanded to stop the mass deportation of Afghan refugees and asylum seekers from Pakistan and said that Islamabad should prevent another crisis.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: Richard Bennett, the UN Special Rapporteur on the human rights situation in Afghanistan (Tuesday, October 31) wrote in a message on X channel: "I ask Pakistan to cancel its plans for Deporting [immigrants and refugees] en masse to Afghanistan will prevent another crisis for Afghans."

Yesterday was the last day for undocumented migrants to leave Pakistan. Pakistani officials say that after the deadline, undocumented migrants will be deported.

This decision of Pakistan has faced widespread reactions. Human rights organizations consider the forced return of migrants and asylum seekers to be a violation of international law.

Despite these criticisms, Pakistani authorities have said that action against those who refused to leave Pakistan will begin in earnest within the next 24 hours.

It is said that the process of identifying and issuing warnings to immigrants and asylum seekers has started a few days ago.
