Hamas rejects Al-Arabiya report on ceasefire
The Palestinian resistance movement, Hamas has categorically denied a report of Al-Arabiya network that the movement had agreed to an international proposal on the Gaza ceasefire.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Monitoring: A Hamas statement, cited by the Palestinian Shihab News Agency, rejected the news published by Al-Arabiya attributed to a senior Hamas source regarding the receipt of an international proposal for a long ceasefire in Gaza, the gradual return of refugees or the departure of a delegation to Cairo for talks.
We ask the media to ensure the authenticity and credibility of the news and do not play with the feelings of our people who are under the military aggression of the Zionist regime and being massacred, the statement added.
Earlier, the Al-Arabiya network quoted an unnamed senior Hamas source as saying that Hamas had received an international proposal for the ceasefire in Gaza, which would include the release of Israeli captives in exchange for children, women and the elderly languishing in the regime’s jails.
According to this report, a delegation from Hamas will also travel to Cairo in the next few days to discuss the details of the agreement and start of its implementation./IRNA
