France put new restrictions on religious citizens
The French government has imposed new laws to limit the activities of congregational prayer leaders (Imams) in this country.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Monitoring: According to French Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin, congregational prayer leaders in French mosques must speak French and participate in secularism training courses.
Darmanin also announced on behalf of the French government to countries that send prayer leaders to France that the hiring of prayer leaders from other countries will be stopped from 2024.
Previously, the French Ministry of the Interior had issued an expulsion order for a Tunisian mosque Imam and preacher who had been residing in the country for forty years.
Islam today is considered the second-largest religion in France.
